TO CARE MED was proudly featured at the GEF – Global Eco Forum, held yesterday at the stunning Hotel Món Sant Benet in Sant Fruitós de Bages, Barcelona. The project was presented during the insightful Round Table: Digital Ecotourism Best Practices and Innovative Experiences.

The panel, moderated by Turina Serra (Manager – Garrotxa Tourism), gathered a distinguished group of experts: Gerard Costa (Co-Director – ANIGAMI), Sara Sánchez Olmo (Director – Consortium for the Protection and Management of the Alta Garrotxa Protected Natural Area), Emma Magistri (Department of Economics – University of Venice Ca’ Foscari), and Gema Piñero (Professor – ITEAM – Universitat Politècnica de València).

The session explored innovative digital ecotourism experiences that seamlessly combine technology with environmental and social values. The core discussion focused on fostering greater collaboration among diverse stakeholders and reflecting on the key challenges and opportunities for making ecotourism more connected and inclusive.
The TO CARE MED presentation focused on the project’s structure, including the digital tool, the Destination Working Groups, and the cascade training model. Discussions also covered the project’s innovation, transferability, and future perspectives within the ecotourism landscape.
